Darth Teslief Pt. 2

Geof and Carii were restless on the shuttle flight to the Sith command ship named The Impaler. Once on board the Nexu ran down the corridor with the Kath Hound close behind. “Try to get them to end up in my quarters. Close hatches and doors to guide them and keep personnel out of their way as best you can.”

“Yes, m’lord.” The captain motioned to a computer tech who hurried to the nearest console. “If you’ll follow me I will lead you to your quarters or the bridge or wherever you wish to go first.” The captain was an Echani male, no doubt placed here because of his species’ culture surrounding combat.

“I’d like to go to the training room, if you don’t mind. It’s been a while since I went toe to toe with an Echani, so I would be pleased if you would join me for a sparing match.” Teslief glanced at the captain’s uniform and realized that it had been modified so as not to hamper movement. “You’re uniform speaks for you, I think.”

The Echani stared at her for a moment before replying. “Yes, I would like to. I’m Erabor Verik, by the way.”

“I’m Darth Teslief, but I think you already knew that.”

“Yes, m’lord, I did.”

“Hyperspace exit imminent. Take positions,” the ship’s comm sounded. Darth Teslief and Captain Verik disengaged and braced for the exit jolt. The ship began to turn when the captain’s personal comm went off.

Captain Verik thumbed the communicator on. “Go ahead. Very well.” He put the comm away. “We’re needed on the bridge.”

Throwing her outer robe on Teslief opened the sparring room door and started towards the bridge. Geof and Carii fell in step beside her as she absently patted them on their heads. “Any idea why we’re needed?”

“Well alarms haven’t sou-” the alarms sounded and cut him off. “I’ll just shut up now.”

“All personnel to general quarters. This is not a drill.” blared over the ship’s comm.

“Hop on my Nexu, we’ll get to the bridge faster.” Teslief hopped onto the back of her Kath Hound and they bounded towards the turbolift.
